Gerrie Vogt Obituary
Gerrie J. Vogt, age 90, of Oshkosh, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016. He was born on October 23, 1925 in Chicago, IL a son of the late Gerrie and Sidonia (Marx) Vogt. He married Mary Grace Gafney on October 7, 1961. Gerrie was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a motorcycle mechanic after the war, then for the Oshkosh City Bus Company and later Oshkosh Truck as a mechanic. He also farmed for many years and was a real estate broker for a while. He loved restoring old tractors and wood working projects such as making grandfather clocks, dulcimers and cabinets.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Grace Vogt; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Brennand and several nieces and nephews. Gerrie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kenneth Vogt.
Funeral services for Gerrie will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Dr. with the Rev. William Van DeKreeke officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Senior Living for the wonderful care they gave to their favorite "cookie monster".

My very deepest and most heartfelt sympathy to the Family of Gerrie Vogt. May the love of God our Heavenly Father comfort you in this difficult time. We were neighbors of Gerrie's for many years when we farmed in both the Oshkosh and Omro area. May Gerrie forever Rest In Peace, and may God's Perpetual Light Forever Shine upon him.

Since condolences to Gerrie's family. Our mothers were first cousins. Regret that I spoke with him only once, and never met, but that conversation was key to reconnecting with his family line. May you rest in peace, Gerrie.
