Irene Canfield Obituary
Larsen Canfield
Mom was called to Heaven Sunday, March 27, 2011. She has been looking forward to seeing her Savior for a number of years. She was born July 13, 1917 to John and Elizabeth Larsen in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. After several moves, the family settled on a fruit ranch in White Bluffs, WA. There she graduated from high school in a class of 8, May 1936. Her next move was to Olympia where she lived with her grand-father. She met Al Canfield (Dad) fall of 1937 and they were married March 7, 1938. She had many interests: sewing, cake decorating, gardening, cooking at the Dunes Bible Camp. She was a long time member of Emmanuel Bible Fellowship. Her ministries included teaching Sunday School, visiting in nursing homes and welcoming visitors to the church.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Canfield (Sue); daughters, Kathryn Hoover (John) and Arlene Reynolds (Everett); sister, Pearl Posthuma O'Neil; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grand-children and 2 great great-grandchildren. Widowed for almost 30 years, Irene was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Larsen; brother, Elmer; sister, Lillian; and daughter-in-law Cheri (Ken).
We wish to thank the staff at RooLan Healthcare Center for their care and understanding of Mom. Any gifts in her memory may be sent to The Dunes Bible Camp, 23515 Pacific Way, Ocean Park, WA 98640. Her memorial service will be Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Bible Fellowship. We have the assurance that Mom, Irene "finished well".

Irene was a wonderful lady, loved by all at Emmanuel Baptist Church when I was a teenager. God blessed us all through her. And now she has joined so many of our friends at the feet of Jesus. Looking forward to that day, too! Jan Ward Gallop
