Jerome Kelly Obituary
Born March 16, 1931 in Olympia, and a resident of Los Altos, California for the past 45 years, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2011. Jerry is survived by his wife Jane also of Los Altos; son Cameron of Rockport, Massachusetts and three grandchildren (Rochelle, Brendan and Michael).
Mr. Kelly graduated from Olympia High School in 1949 and served as a reporter for the Daily Olympian while he earned his bachelor degree at the University of Washington. After earning his master's degree in communications at Stanford University, he served in the U.S. Army Public Information Office, Berlin Germany.
Following employment as a staff reporter for the Wall Street Journal, he served as communications director at Memorex Corporation, Santa Clara, California, and public relations manager at ROLM telecommunications, Santa Clara. He also headed his own advertising/public relations firm in Los Altos, later merging with another company to form Kelly/McDonough Communications, Mountain View, CA. Mr. Kelly authored a novel, In the Grip of the Iron Curtain, in 2006. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association under his name.
Jerry will be greatly missed by his entire family across the U.S. and abroad.

I worked for Jerry one summer, while attending San Jose State. He hired me to assist with a variety of Memorex advertising projects. Later, as a full-timer in corporate communications at Memorex, I continued to work with Jerry as he managed the Advertising Department. He was a very nice man, patient and helpful to this inexperienced kid. I feel fortunate to have known him.

I have very fond memories of my Uncle. We had many family visits while growing up, both in WA and CA. Always a lot of fun and laughter. Uncle Jerry, Aunt Jane, and Cousin Cam are very special people to me. I will certainly miss Uncle Jerry.
