I've known Ray for over 25 years through my mother and stepfather Barbara and Henry Yates. I had opportunities over the years to see him, freom youth football games years back to visits my husband and I made to the Brooklyn Tavern. Each and every time he graciously accepted a hug and always remembered who I was. He was a wonderful individual who always had so many great stories to tell. I will truly miss him. Lisa Wyse

I met Ray in 1990, he Married my mother shortly after. We didn't always get along (Mostly due to my "Better Way Boy" attitude). But i soon realized that Ray wanted nothing but the best for my Mom and my two younger brothers. He taught me how to be a man. He taught me that there is more to life than material things. He taught me that honor, respect, and love from friends and family are the most important things in life, and if you want them you have work hard and earn them. I dont know what my life would have been like without him there, but I do know that i wouldn't be the man that I am today. And for that i thank him, wherever he is... WE ALL LOVE AND MISS YOU RAY!!!

My Uncle Ray was one of my favorite people in the whole world. He told it like it was and treated you the way that he wanted to be treated. I will miss him terribly. He was so much like his own father (my grandfather) and that is why I loved him so much. He lived life to the fullest, and I will never forget him. My deepest condonences go out to Janice, Steph and Bruce. Raise a glass for me on Saturday (sorry I cannot make the trip). The rest of my family will be there to celebrate his life!!

From the first day I meet Ray the one thing that was his was his cold Bud's. He had his own frig for them ( for some reason when all the boys would come over we would drink alot and his beer would just vanish). He would always yell at warren tell your friends to stay away from my G.D. beer. It would never fail by the end of the night we would all end up in his stash. Well Ray Tonight I am buying a cold 12 of BUDS and there just for you and me. Thank you for service and your friendship and the way I always felt at home at your house

I worked for Ray for several years. I remember Ray as being one of the best bosses anyone could ever hope to have. He could be your boss and he could be your friend, He truly knew how to seperate from the business at the end of the day and at the end of day it was time to relax and unwind. I can remember getting done with some contract negotiations one night and hearing him say, that's enough of this for the day, I'm buying the beer! Fair, smart, and a great friend! We hadn't crossed paths very many times in recent years, but I have thought of him often. Ray always was thinking of those who worked in his dealership, and there was hardly a morning went by when he didn't take the time to walk through the dealership and stop and have a few words with each and every one of us. Ray, by the way he lived, taught me a lot about how to treat others, and how to put the previous day behind you and always start the next day fresh. He will be missed by all.

Too many stories too many miles... you sure will be missed, but the memories you gave us will go on forever. For every brandy we will have, we will toast a "TT" to you. Janis, you lost a "Dear" friend and so did we. Our hearts go out to you and family.

Every hunting season at the end of the day we always have stopped at the tavern before heading over the hill to home. It just will not be the same now. Rest in peace Ray. We will stop by and have a toast to you this season as we have always done.

Ray purchasedt the tavern from me in 1990. He was a much welcomed patron for years prior to the purchase, and remained my good friend afterward. I will never forget the "wild ride" across Smith Creek(13 minutes) to sign the final papers at South Bend. He was so much fun, and will be sorely missed.
