Vivian Rupp Obituary

Vivian "Bib" Rupp

Vivian, 84, was born August 14, 1926, to Russell and Muriel Bandy in Walla Walla, WA. She passed away on April 12, 2011, in St Peter Hospital. She had four children which she raised primarily alone: Robert Von Bargen, Shelton, Joyce Von Bargen Engstrom, California, Clifford Nelson, Alaska and Clayton Nelson, Shelton. The four children were raised very closely with their cousins: Rodney and Craig Griffiths. Among her many jobs, Vivian was always proud to be one of the first "Printer's Helper" for the "Aberdeen Daily World" during WW2. She moved to Olympia from Shelton in the 1970's. She worked for the maintainance Dept. in Governor Dixie Lee Ray's office.
She married Max Rupp, a childhood friend, in 1992. They lived in Grays Harbor for many years before moving to
Olympia.
Vivian "Bib" had 2 sisters, preceded in death by Barbara Jean Miller and survived by sister, Juanita La Brec, Shelton, 15 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was always busy and she loved people, socializing and playing cards with family and friends, sewing and quilting. She also felt it was her job to manage the family affairs and probably still intends to! She will always be remembered for her kindness and close friendships of many years.
On Saturday, April 23 there will be a gathering of family and friends at the home of her nephew, Craig Griffths, 111 Valley Rd. Hoquiam, WA.
