I was quite shocked when I heard of Flynn's passing. I had known Flynn for some 40 plus years (yes, another one who met through the Junior Forest Warden Program and opposing ends of the football field). We shared a lot of good times, and maybe a few (let's say),interesting times in our youth and young adult lives. I had corresponded with Flynn earlier this year about making the bike ride to Sturgis (so that is not going to be happening). But Flynn, when we make that ride, I will dedicate it to your memory my friend. Rest in Peace

My sincere condolences to Flynn's family. I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of this news. Flynn was one of the guiding lights in my teen years through the Junior Forest Wardens Program and Evans Lake Camp. A friend and a mentor, the world was brightened by your smile and your big heart.
Thanks Flynn. You showed that one man can indeed change and influence the world in a wonderful way.

My sincere condolences to Flynn's family, friends and colleagues. It is truly sad to hear he was taken way too soon by such a devastating disease.
Growing up with Flynn and working with him as a Forest Warden leader and counselor at Evans Lake, he was a true friend and mentor. Whenever he flashed that devilish smile or had that twinkle in his eye, you just knew he had a great joke or was up to something that would bring on that unforgettable laugh.
Flynn always had time for others to coach, mentor or offer a helping hand, a natural leader. From all that has been written and shared, he never changed.
Rest in Peace my friend.

My deepest condolences to Allison, Bob and MaryAnne, and other family and friends. I just found out tonight, watching the 11 pm news, and I am just gutted. Our families were close when we were kids. Some of my happiest and craziest memories growing up involve Flynn and Allison. Bicycle built for two riding in Birch Bay. Building forts out back of their house on Rochester in Coquitlam. Camping at Alouette Lake. Flynn wading in and pulling me out of a stinking cess pool I had fallen in, while everyone else stood at the edge and laughed. Flynn was one of the kindest people I have ever met. Our paths crossed every few years, but I hadn't talked to him in about 4 years, and had no idea he was ill. He was also my very first crush when I was a little girl, and I will never forget him, or his amazing hugs.

It is with great sadness to learn of Flynn's passing. I knew Flynn from Junior Forest Wardens 40 years ago. He was a great leader, and always a true friend. Through news reports, I have followed his career with great admiration. And I always said "I knew him when...." RIP Flynn

Flynn, it's hard to believe you're gone, much too young. I remember when we were kids playing at our house or cabin in Manitoba, we always had a blast. And, when we reconnected as adults, even though you had grown from s skinny little kid to a tall athletic man, you were still a kid at heart when you weren't at work. I'm so proud of the man you were and the life you lived. I love you, your cousin Rob

Flynn was a unique and unforgettable personality.
From when we met on the first day of grade 8, through many hours on the football field, more hours on the bike, and even more hours hoisting a frosty cold one, he was a true, special and trusted friend. The best man at my wedding, a role model and a constant reminder of what service to one's community actually means.
May the wind always be at your back and the dogs there to greet you when you arrive.

Flynn, you have left a great hole in many lives. You were a friend, true to your word, and a passionate volunteer. Thank you for your many visits to the Public Safety Communications program with Barkley, Cooper and Huddleston. So many have learned from you at KPU. Give Rollie a hug from me!

Flynn was one of a kind.
I met him 30+ years ago as a scrawny 18ish year old who was into bikes, at a bike race movie night. We started chatting and decided a ride was in order. One led to many.
As a guy with less than ideal male-role models growing up, you showed up in my life at a time when, even though I didn't know it, I needed it. You were kind, funny, generous with your time, and never, ever made me feel like I was a bother. You were the big brother I never had, and the one I needed. I am forever thankful to you for that.
We rode, laughed, worked, and just hung out together. Irreplaceable memories.
I was saddened and crushed to hear of your illness and then your passing.
I was able to share a letter with you before you passed (so glad it made it on time), to let you know how much our friendship helped shape me into the father and man I am today. Our paths crossed at the right time. And crossed many times from then to more recently. Even if it was years since we saw each other, it was like it was yesterday. Those friendships are irreplaceable.
Rest in peace "mang". I shall dedicate my future bike rides to you. And I'll stop for an ice cream sandwich on one of them (as we used to do) and toast it to you.

Worked with Flynn when he was with Coquitlam SAR and when he came to a week long BC Cave Rescue Seminar. He was an instant friend and he will be missed.

Flynn & I went to highschool together. He was a "Prince" of a guy then as well. Saw Flynn early this summer, had some great laughs!
I'll miss my old pal a lot. One heck of a good guy!

As Barkley's breeders, we were so proud to have known Flynn and follow all that he accomplished with his "boys". He was totally dedicated to his profession and his SAR training with the dogs. Our sympathies to all who knew and loved Flynn. He was a friend for 19 years and a character we will always remember. He's with Barkley and Cooper now and at peace.

I have known Flynn for 34 years, we met while he volunteered for the 1981 Summer Special Olympic Games in Ottawa. I am devastated by his passing...Sheila and I had dinner with Flynn when we were last in Vancouver, and had a blast. Flynn and I lived together, skied together, laughed together, ran together...I would love to hear from family or friends of Flynn...we have been good friends for a long time. Mary Ann, we have not met but, we would love to hear from you. Bill and Sheila Bean, 902 476 3478, Hacketts Cove, NS
