Brian Fiddler Obituary
Brian left us April 15, 2018 after a heroic 4-yr battle with cancer. He faced each day with his amazing positive attitude and razor-sharp wit.
Brian is survived by his soul-mate of 23 years Meighan, his four children he was so proud of, Bryce (Nathalie), Sydney (Geoff), Piper and Peter, his granddaughter Emerson and soon to arrive grandson Jack. He will be missed by his mother Anne, brothers Peter, Larry (Jackie), Keith and sister Barb. He was pre-deceased by his father Sidney.
Brian was a family man. He was a friend. He could light up a room with humour and 'sick' dance moves. He was wise and always knew what to do. Brian was selfless when it came to family and friends. He was a hockey player, baseball player and soccer player. But mostly a hockey and baseball player because of the beer rather than the laps.
His kids grew up knowing he was the real Spiderman. His skin couldn't be pierced and he could leap across Canada. If there is a heaven, there is a new sheriff in town and he'll be mixing it up.
Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Margery Zapf Gilje, Dr. Sasha Smiljanic and all the wonderful nurses at the Lion's Gate oncology centre. We also wish to thank Dr. Chan and the nurses at homecare, and the compassionate doctors and nurses at Burnaby General Hospital palliative care.
A celebration of Brian's life will be held at the Centennial Lodge, Queen's Park, New Westminster, April 27, 2018 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm with the program beginning at 4:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in loving memory of Brian Fiddler to Pancreatic Cancer Canada or a charity of your choice.

We were so sorry to hear just recently of Brian's passing. We feel fortunate to have gotten to know him when Sarah and Piper played softball together. We remember his love of the game, his enthusiastic support of the team, and his friendly nature and laugh. Our thoughts, prayers, and condolences are with you all.

My deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers to Brian's entire family. Having known each other from our first day at Van Horne to graduating from John Oliver, we shared many fun and memorable moments. Our adventures from grades 1-7 were the best. We all never stopped laughing and having fun. Pee-Ball (his nickname in the early grades) was the nicest, cutest, funniest guy and that never changed. Rest in Peace dear friend ... Reunions just won't be the same without you!

Our thoughts are with you and your family Meighan. It has been a few years since we last shared a bleacher at a softball game or sold a hot dog at a fundraiser but I remember how much Brian loved the game, his sense of humour and the absolute love of his family. He will be missed.

Dear Meighan and family, we are so sad to hear about Brian but so happy we had the chance to meet such a great guy! He was the best softball coach for the girls - so encouraging and fun! He made us all laugh. I'll miss running into him at our local Safeway and around town. Thinking of you all at this very difficult time.
