Betty Genell Dacy was born on Oct. 12, 1933, in Davenport, Okla.
She was the daughter of Claud and Nora Hooper.
She passed away at Vaca Valley Hospital on Nov. 20, after a long illness.
Betty was a devoted sister, wife, mother and grandmother who cared deeply for her family. She was an understanding military wife who knew how to get things done. She worked in retail sales and as a waitress in Oklahoma.
Betty married her husband, Roy Dacy, on May 16, 1961, in Enid, Okla. They moved to Vacaville, Calif., in 1967 where they spent many years making memories together. She enjoyed camping and boating with her family. Betty also enjoyed spending time in her garden growing vegetables and tending to her flowers. She attended Valley Free Church in Vacaville and enjoyed singing the old hymns. She was always there with a quick smile and comforting words of encouragement whenever it was needed. She was kind, generous and loving.
Betty is survived by her husband of 49 years, Roy Dacy of Vacaville; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Jim Gleiter of Bay Center, Wash.; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Carol Dacy of Vacaville; grandsons, Michael and Benjamin Dacy; brother, Bob Hooper of Cleveland, Okla.; sisters, Shirley Cook of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Rebecca Porter of Fosterville, Tenn.
A viewing for Betty will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, at Vaca Hills Chapel, 524 Elmira Road, Vacaville. On Monday, Nov. 29, she will be laid to rest at 9:30 a.m. at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon.
A Memorial Service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Valley Free Church, 5063 Maple Road, Vacaville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Student Ministry at Valley Free Church.
