William Spencer Edwards, 77, was born in Godair Township, Mo., to Mitchell and Dollie Edwards.
He had six siblings, all deceased. He was a graduate of Portageville High School.
In 1952, he married Lois Rinck, with whom he had three children. Bill joined the Air Force and served honorably for 20 years. Upon his return from Vietnam, he was stationed at Travis Air Force Base, where he retired in 1973. For the next many years, he enjoyed a second career in insurance and investments.
In 1978, Bill married Margaret Corcoran, who survives him in Vacaville. He is also survived by two sons, Mark (Diane) of Vacaville and Michael (Kathy) of Las Vegas; daughter, Paula Easton (Mike) of Suisun; and grandchildren, Kaylan, Kyle, Matt Edwards, Ryan and Ken Easton.
Bill was a natural athlete. He excelled in many sports in high school and the military, but his passion was golf. He was happy to have had two holes in one. He was a sincere, quiet, kind, loving man and hard worker. He was a loyal 49er fan, a fierce patriot, a devoted husband and father, and a man of faith.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, at Vaca Hills Chapel Funeral Home, 524 Elmira Road, Vacaville.

Dear Paula & Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. May the pain be lightened by the memories that your Father has left with you.
Star Dad
I love you, Dad, and want you to know,
I feel your love wherever I go.
Whenever I've problems, you're there to assist,
The ways you have helped me would make quite a list.
Your wisdom and knowledge have shown me the way,
And I'm thankful for you as I live day by day.
I don't tell you enough how important you are,
In my universe you're a bright shining star.
Love,
Lisa, Matthew & Alexis
