Harold Ray Obituary

Dec. 14, 1919 - Nov. 11, 2010

Harold W. Ray, 90, of Vacaville, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 11, in Vacaville. He was born in Lexington, Ky., on Dec. 14, 1919.

Harold served in the United States Air Force for 24 years, retiring in 1969. He was also a California state employee for 15 years for Caltrans, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Church of Christ at 401 First St. He was an avid woodworker who loved spending time making anything and everything for family and friends.

Harold is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia (Bob) Hurley of Vacaville, Nancy (Jim) Harlow of Hayden, Idaho, Barbara Ray of Vacaville, and Dianne Ray of Vacaville; son and daughters-in-law, Betty Ray of Houston, and Donald (B. Ann) Ray of Acton, Calif.; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary E. Ray; and son, Jack Ray.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. at McCune Garden Chapel. A funeral with Larry West officiating will follow on Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 1 p.m. at McCune Garden Chapel. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Air Force Memorial Foundation, 1 Air Force Memorial Drive, Arlington, VA 22204.
