A parent's worst nightmare has begun. Your son is late coming home, your calls go unanswered. Then in the early morning hours you get that dreaded phone call that something awful has happened. He was at the wrong place at the wrong time and in the blink of an eye his life is over. You keep hoping and praying that it's all just a bad dream but these prayers will go unanswered.
At the young age of 20, Cameron Scott Silva, son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and a good friend to many has been taken from us by a senseless, violent and tragic act. In the blink of an eye his life is over. He will not have the chance to marry and have children of his own. To raise a family, have a normal and happy life and grow old with his loved ones. But he is now safe from harm and in a better place. He left this world on Nov. 16, 2010, 3 years to the day that his beloved grandmother Minnie Schooler had passed on.
Cameron lived at home with his mother, Sally Silva, father, Rick Silva and 2 brothers, Will and Austin. He graduated from Vacaville High School in 2008. He had previously worked at Nike in the factory stores and had just started a new job at Best Buy. He liked his new job and was enjoying life with his girlfriend Sarah Berkheimer. They were planning a life together, but all those hopes and dreams have been cut short.
Cameron encompassed all our hearts, deep and fully. He knew how to love and was a warm and giving person. Cameron was the sunshine of all our lives, loved by everyone; family and friends. He was brilliant, naturally athletic, mechanical, an artist and an all around special person. Nothing can take his place; he will live on forever in our hearts and memories.
He is survived by his mother and father, Sally and Rick Silva; brothers, Will and Austin; and paternal grandmother, Ellen DeLege; many aunts and uncles, Mary Jane Schooler (Nana), Nancy Martinez, Al and Connie Martinez, Jeff Schooler, Joe Schooler, Rob and Alicia Silva, Ron Silva, Rachelle and Steven Bourne, Marilyn and George Perrone; cousins, Joshua Schooler, Michele and Ivan Werblow, Michael Martinez, Jamie Lynn Schooler, Sydney Bourne, Cody Silva, Preston Silva, Mason Silva, Phillip Perrone and numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Minnie Schooler; an uncle, Larry Martinez; and paternal grandfather, Richard (Dick) Silva.
Let us all "celebrate" Cameron's Life. Hopefully we can take something positive from his short life and tragic passing. Make sure you tell your children how much you care about them and that you LOVE THEM on a regular basis. Nothing is certain in this life and you never know when it might be the last chance you get to express your feelings!
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 1 p.m. at The Father's House, 126 Peabody Road, Vacaville. A Cameron Scott Silva Memorial Fund has been set up at: Bank of the West, 330 Davis Street, Vacaville, Calif., 95688
A fundraiser will be held on Saturday, Dec 4, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Unity of the Valley Spiritual Center, 350 N. Orchard Ave., Vacaville. Multi-vendor event - great Christmas gifts and proceeds go to Cameron's Memorial Fund. A Heartfelt thanks to everyone for your caring and support.

Rick, Sally, Will and Austin,
You are blessed to have been a part of Cameron's life. He was such a wonderful, loving person. He, as well, was so very lucky to have been a part of such a wonderful family. I believe that he was a fine example to Will and Austin and it shows through every time I see them. Sally, you are an extraordinary mother and woman. Please know that you can call Jeff or I for anything at anytime. Our love and prayers are with your whole family.
With Love,
Jeff, Kerri and family~

Can't hardly believe it has been 3 weeks since you were taken from us, they say time heals all wounds however I know that I will never get over losing you in such a senseless, tragic way. I was there the day you were born, for every birthday, family get together and your biggest accomplishment...graduation. I was always proud of my handsome nephew and there will never be another like you in my heart. Cameron I hope you knew just how much you are loved and how many lives you touched in your short lifetime. I will forever hold fond memories of you in my heart...life goes on but it will be drastically different without you in it. I love you my beautiful nephew.

Rick, Sally and Kids,
We will miss Cameron dearly, I remember the days that he would come pick up my son James for a game of football or baseball. They would leave and I would tell them all to be careful and not get hurt. Our son looked up to Cameron and loved him as a brother. I am so sorry for your loss. Our love, thoughts and prayers go out to your family in this tragic time. God Bless you all.

Cameron and Sarah, my niece, were at my house on November 10th, I highlighted Sarah's hair while Cameron hung out and we all watched silly shows on TV together. I've known Cameron since Sarah and he started dating and he has been at numerous family dinners and was always been sweet, gracious, and loving. He always had hugs for me and I will always remember him as the big teddy bear that stole Sarah's heart. You will never be forgotten, Cameron. You were and always will be a part of our family.

Rick, Sally, Will, Austin, Jane and Josh,
We have watched Cameron grow up for the past 12 years. From a 9 year old boy, to a 13 year old teen who helped Bradie learn to ride her bike and into a wonderful man whose friendly smile and constant kindness lit up the neighborhood whenever he passed our home. His presence will truly be missed. Our love goes out to you, your family and all of Cameron's friends.
