A Mass of the Resurrection for Hope Padilla Cortez, 81, will be celebrated today at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Jacobo Caceras presiding.
She was born on May 2, 1929, in Rodeo, Calif. Hope left us to be with God on Wednesday, Oct. 13. Hope attended John Swett High School in Rodeo, where she resided for 45 years. She worked for the federal government 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Stephen and Kevin.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Manuel; sons, Manuel and wife Sherril, and Aaron; and grandchildren, Carmella, Mario, Kevin, Justin, Ryan, Kristi and Aaron.
Hope will live forever in the hearts of all who knew her.

We are sorry that we cannot attend the services, but please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you always. Hope was a strong, courageous, and loving Mother, Wife, and Friend. We will miss her.
