Lorraine Lockwood Obituary

Lorrine Lockwood passed away peacefully shortly after midnight New Year's day. She was 93 years old. She was born in 1917 during World War II and lived a fulfilling and varied life. She was the third child of James and Lutie Foster of Long Beach, Calif.; graduating from Wilson High School. She was a long-boat rower as a young girl and always active with her family and community.

She married George (Bill) Lockwood in 1942. He proceeded her in death in 2002, just short of their 60th wedding anniversary. Lorraine enjoyed gardening, sewing, ceramics and was a member of many clubs in her community. She was a Army officer's wife until her husband retired in the late 1960s. They moved to Placerville and lived there for approximately 25 years. In the late '90s they moved to Vacaville to be closer to their immediate family.

Lorriane is survived by her daughters, Kitty Lockwood and Penny Wilson (Bill); four granddaughters, Kathryn Carpenter, Stephanie Moseley, Michelle Stark (Brad), and Jody Worthy. She also had 8 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Lorriane was well loved by many and surely will be missed by all; as she never met a stranger!

There will be a memorial service Monday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m., at United Methodist Church of Dixon.
