Steven Miola Obituary

Steven R. Miola of Lansdale Steven R. Miola, April 19, 2015, of Lansdale. Beloved husband of Paula Sarday, passed away on April 19, 2015. Loving father of Anthony, Steven and Joseph. Also survived by mother Annette, twin brother, Robert, as well as nephew and godson Daniel, nieces Sr. Fiat, Sr. Panagia, Rose, and stepson Shawn. Steve was born on August 30, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York, attended Archbishop Molloy High School and Manhattan College, and then continued studies at Temple University, obtaining a Masters and Ph.D. in Biometrics. In his later years he also was near completion of a Masters in Theology at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. He was employed at Merck for 38 years in the Research and Marketing Divisions, most recently acting as a Senior Principal Scientist in Research. For the last 10 years Steve was an active and devout member of the religious family of the Incarnate Word. He showed unyielding support for the religious sisters and priests and their missions in spiritual and material ways, also creating numerous pieces of beautiful artwork for the order. His generosity led him to become a Knight Commander in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem dedicated to the preservation and propagation of the Catholic faith in the Holy Land through prayer and charitable undertakings. He began his years serving on the altar in Queens and ended them serving on the altar in Philadelphia with the Confraternity of St. Stephen, a guild of Latin Mass altar servers. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing at Corpus Christi Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA 19446, on Friday, April 24th, 2015, between 9 and 11 a.m., followed by his Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment St. John Neuman cemetery. Dear Steve!
Sadly, it's been 10 years since you left us. I think about you often: about your life here with us and wonder what you are now experiencing. As cousins we are one step below brotherhood and I surely hope you are in Heaven experiencing the Beatific Vision and in the company of the Angels & Saints. I hope I make it there. Pray for us as we pray for you. I'm getting up there in age, so I'll see you sooner than later I suspect.
Love you & miss you,
Cousin Frank & Pattie

Steve was an incredible support for me when I worked at Merck. Even though it was outside his scope of responsibilities, he volunteered to be an informal mentor and provided me with strategies to meet the needs of the teams I was supporting. At that time I was also in the process of adopting a child from Colombia and I just remember how happy he was for me. He was a very special person and I think of him often.

Happy 7 years in Heaven Cuz! I know you are praying for all of us and be assured I am still praying for you. At Mass I think of what you said in your parting letter to all the cousins, that you will be on the other side adoring God while we are doing so in the pews. So, I'll see you again at Mass and hope to see you again in the future when my time comes to leave this life. God's blessings always.

Wow! Four years since my dear cousin Steve left us for greener pastures. I always remember his instructions to all his family members and friends: If you want to get in touch with me, meet me at MassIll be on the other side of the host at the elevation with all the angels and saints.

So, Steve until next we meet in person, I'll contact you next Sunday at Mass.

Love you and miss you. Prayers and God's blessings to you always!

Hi Paula

I left Merck almost 2 years ago and I just spoke to someone who I knew from Merck a few moments ago. He told me the news. I am in a state of shock. Steve was an incredible human being. He became my informal mentor at Merck and I will never forget how much he helped me. I wish someone had told me. I would definitely have been there to support him.

To the Beloved Miola Family:
Because of the friendship between our children, Joe & Blair, we came to make the acquaintance of this beautiful family and I thank my God upon every remembrance of you! May the fond memories of a great man of God be forever etched in your hearts. Steven loved and he was loved! May it comfort your hearts to know that weeping may endure for a night, but joy does come in the morning. Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints. (Psalm 116:15). Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we extend our heartfelt sympathy.
Sincerely,
Cleveland, Darlene, Blair & Jared Alston

Dear Paula and family,
I was so saddened to hear about Steve's passing. I have many, many fond memories of Steve while we worked together over the years at Merck. Most notably while in Data Coordination where he always seemed to make me laugh and we had the standing joke about where there was food, there were the Statisticians! Steve was always so even keel, kind and helpful. He was intelligent and witty. I can't believe I have known him for 32 years. He made a lasting impression on me and will always hold a special place in my heart. My prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.
I very much wanted to be there today to express my condolences live, but got hit by some kind of bug last night that just doesn't want to go away, so best not to infect others. Please know that I wanted to give you a hug and accept it through this message.
He will be with you in everything you do every day through the lasting impressions he has made on all of us. He is in God's arms now.
Love,
Janet Keyser

Thank you, Steve, for your friendship and support as a fellow member of the servers' guild. You have fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith. Now you don the crown of righteousness that our Lord has awaited to give you. We hope that one day, when our time comes to enter eternity, we may see you again, and at the second coming of Our Lord, we may all be raised up together, radiant and spotless, to enter into eternal happiness.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
