Evelyn Carrel Obituary
Evelyn was born May 24, 1924, in Sand Ridge to John McCaleb and Maude (Moorefield) McCaleb Saul.
She had worked as a caregiver for other people.
Mrs. Carrel was a member of Faith Christian Church in Du Quoin. She was also a member of American Legion Post 127 Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Post 7190 Ladies Auxiliary, and Ladies of the Moose.
She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Edward Holley and Howard Carrel.
Evelyn is survived by four children, John Holley and his wife, Bonnie Holley, of DeQueen, Ark., Edwin Eugene Holley of Elkville, Pamela Hiller of Du Quoin, and Deon Holley of Elkville; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a special friend and caregiver, Vivian Wright.
She was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Roger Hiller; two grandchildren, Tanisha Raysby and Brooklyn Raysby; two brothers; six sisters; and her parents.
Gravesite services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 10, at Ava Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Gerald Wright officiating. Pettett Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Pettett Funeral Home.

I'm sorry to hear about Evelyns passing. The last member of my grandparents and their friends generation has passed on. Evelyn treated me like family everytime she was around me. I'll always remember her laugh. And her kindness. She's now back with some of her family members and all her past friends up in Heaven. I hope I'm able to see Evelyn again in the future, because she left me with so many good and funny memories here on earth. You are missed by me and my family but you will not be forgotten. God Bless Evelyn and her family.

There are no words to say that could bring comfort to your hearts, but this I mean...I loved your Mom, dearly and know that she is in a better place, The Lord's Hands. If there is anything I can do to help you through this difficult time, please, feel free to ask it of me. I love you, Deon and I will be here for you as long as you need me. Thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Holley family. May God keep you safe and ease your pain. She will be missed by many.
