Robert Garner Obituary

MURPHYSBORO -- Robert Eugene "Bobby Gene" Garner, 86, passed away at 10:35 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, in Mulberry Manor in Anna.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011, in Pettett Funeral Home, with the Rev. P. K. Sunny officiating. Burial will be at Murdale Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nu-Way Inc. at Anna.

Robert was born June 5, 1925, in Murphysboro, to Peter Cooper Garner and Leona (Clutts) Garner.

Bobby Gene is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Walter Glenn and Helen Garner of Murphysboro; four nieces, Jo Linda Johnson of Louisville, Ky., Melissa Niedbayski of Du Bois, Mary Brenda Maxey of Kogoshima, Japan, Melissa Niedbayski of Du Bois and Carol Jane Bagwell of Birmingham, Ala.; and two nephews, Dennis Garner of Murphysboro and Dr. Cooper Garner of Waxhaw, N.C.

He leaves several special friends at Nu-Way Inc. in Anna.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Maxine Stanes; one brother, Leon Garner; one brother in infancy; and his parents.
