Bernice Pellow Obituary

WEST FRANKFORT -- Bernice A. Pellow, 79, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011, in Frankfort Care and Rehabilitation Center in West Frankfort.

She was born Dec. 22, 1931, in West Frankfort.

She is survived by her sister, Doris (Harold) Guill of Northlake. Also surviving are two nephews, one niece, four great-nieces, one great nephew and twin great-great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bertha and Cecil Nolen; and by her husband, John Pellow.

Bernice worked for the U.S. government for many years. After moving back to West Frankfort, she and John bought the West Frankfort Office and Church Supply and ran it until their retirement. Until about two years ago, Bernice greatly enjoyed walking in and around West Frankfort's City Park, regularly trekking several miles every day.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date at Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort, with Minister Gene Fox officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the local Humane Society, because Bernice loved animals, or to your favorite charity.

My dog Cody and I would often see Bernice walking in the park. She always greeted us as she walked swiftly by. We'll miss her. Darlene Courtoise (West Frankfort)
