Billy Howell Obituary
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, in Riggin-Pillatsch and Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with the Rev. R.H. Chitwood officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Memorials and Tribute Lockbox, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
Bill was born Oct. 9, 1949, in Herrin to James Franklin and Maxine (Hall) Howell.
He married LaDonna K. Miller on Oct. 22, 1976, in Murphysboro.
He is survived by his wife, LaDonna K. Howell of Cambria; parents, James and Maxine Howell of Carterville; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Lucinda Howell of Collinsville; granddaughters, Alicia Cluftin, Lori Dameron, RaShay Culp, and Brentiney Culp; great-granddaughters, Sierra, Jazzlyn, Savanna, Marjorie, Jadann, and Nevaeh; great-grandsons, Gabrie and Brent; and beloved dogs, Charlie and Casey.
Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Culp.
He worked as a trackman for the railroad for many years.
Bill enjoyed fishing, hiking and being outdoors. He also liked watching TV, especially crime dramas, and listening to rock 'n' roll music from the '60s and '70s.
