Charles Lintner Obituary

WEST FRANKFORT - Charles R. Lintner, 68, passed away at 12:58 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, in Heartland Medical Regional Center in Marion.

He was born July 24, 1945, in Jacksonville, Fla., to Charles D. and Louise (Cunningham) Lintner.

He married Sandra Barton on March 27, 1965, and she survives

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church in West Frankfort, serving on the church board, treasurer, parish treasurer and taught all levels of Sunday School. He was member of the Rotary Club of West Frankfort, a member of EASA, former president of Old King Coal Chapter and began his lifelong career at Sandners Electric in 1961 and manager since 1984. He was the co-owner since 2010.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Sue Lintner of West Frankfort; a son, David (Brigette) Lintner of Orient; daughters, Michelle (Clay)Thompson and Kristi (Mike) Arview, all of West Frankfort; Alane Lintner of Atlanta; Karen (Chris) Clark of Anna, 14 grandchildren, Mikayla, Hannah, and Josh Melvin, Lori (Shannon) Parks; Joni Holtz; Sage Lintner; Emily, Ethan, and Alli Arview Jenna, Megan, and Adam Clark; Dawson Lintner; Brianna Swann; three great-grandchildren, Levi and Emma Parks and Cody Holtz; sisters, Bryan Ann Mandrell of West Frankfort and Mary Kay (Rick) Nix of Benton; and brother-in-law, Larry (Jackie) Barton of Plumfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, in Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort, with the Revs. Penelope Barber and Sue Cox offici-ating. Interment will be in Denning Cemetery on Orient Road. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation or Diabetes Foundation.
