Donald Imhoff Obituary

JOHNSTON CITY -- Donald Ray Imhoff, 79, passed away at 1:01 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2011, in Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Donald was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Murphysboro, the son of Henry L. and Lillian M. (Tuthill) Imhoff.

He married Mary E. (Dunn) on Jan. 19, 1951, in Chicago. She survives.

Donald graduated Johnston City High School in 1950. He then entered the service and retired from the Navy as a Master Chief HMC serving from 1950 to 1972 and he served during the Korean War. After retiring, he was the administrator for MURSI for 10 years. He was a 50-year member of the Lake Creek Masonic Lodge 729 of Johnston City.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Imhoff of Johnston City; one daughter, Donna Marie Imhoff of Energy; one son, David C. Imhoff of Johnston City; three grandchildren, Jade D. Imhoff, Drew C. Imhoff, and Derek C. Imhoff; and one brother, Gary Imhoff of Johnston City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steve Imhoff; and one brother, Bill Imhoff.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011, in Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City, with the Rev. Ted A. Hartley officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City, with graveside military rites conducted by the Marion VFW, American Legion and Illinois Army National Guard. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with Masonic rites conducted at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the DAV. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
