Dorothy McGee Obituary

MARION -- Dorothy Y. McGee, 87, died at 2:25 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2011, in Herrin Hospital.

She was born at home Wednesday, Dec. 12, 1923, in Williamson County, northeast of Marion, the daughter of Adolph and Eva Elizabeth (Douglas) Zoeller.

She attended school in Williamson County and was a graduate of Brown's Business College of Marion.

Her working career was with Marion Daily Republican Newspaper and later with Illinois Specialty Company as a secretary until her retirement.

Her church membership was with Second Baptist Church of Marion for many years.

In her spare time, she found enjoyment in painting, listening to music and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Nancy and Tim Moore of Lake of Egypt and Lynette Sharp of Marion; four grandchildren, Crysta Herrell and her husband, Brian, of Johnston City, Aaron Moore, Spencer Sharp and Riley Sharp, all of Marion; three great-grandchildren, Madison, Gavin and Cooper Herrell, all of Johnston City; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and J.W. Benton of Marion, Jeanette and Ron Bowman of Phoenix, Carol and Nick Nicholson of Glendale, Ariz., and Kay and Jack Holderfield of Marion; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Linda Zoeller of Marion and Dan and Carolyn Zoeller of Louisville, Ky., a host of nieces and nephews, other extended family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant stillborn son, Warren Lee Mifflin; two sisters, Shirley Blumenstock and Joan Holmes and two brothers, Adolph "Junior" Zoeller, who was killed on D-Day and Bill Zoeller.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday with Dr. Bob Wagner presiding. A time of visitation for the family and friends will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at the funeral home.

Arrangements for Dorothy McGee have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 N. Court St. of Marion.
