James Newberry Obituary
Coy was born Jan. 18, 1951, in Christopher to James C. and Mary (Grabarich) Newberry.
He was a talented pool player and enjoyed singing Country and Western karaoke and playing his guitar. He was an avid Cubs fan.
Survivors include his son, Buddy Newberry of Mount Vernon; sister, Barbara Pickerill and husband, Phillip, of Decatur; sister, Shirley Robinson and husband, Dennis, of Mount Vernon; sister, Linda Robinson and husband, Kenneth, of Colp; sister, Betty Short and husband, Raymond, of Christopher; and several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John and Robert Newberry.
As per his wishes, his body will be cremated. A graveside memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 6, in Harrison Cemetery in Sesser, with the Rev. Ken Robinson officiating. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at graveside. Memorial arrangements were made at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
Memorial donations are suggested to American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home, 201 S. 13th St., Herrin IL 62948.
