Jerry Mills Obituary
Jerry was born Jan. 30, 1953, in Cairo, to Harold LeRoy and Vera (Carpenter) Mills. He married Patricia Ann Trogolo on Oct. 14, 1978 in Christopher. She preceded him in death Nov. 18, 2004.
He married Rachel Darnell and she survives with her three children, Gabriel, Gavin and Grant Darnell.
He is also survived by a son, Jason Mills of Granite City; his mother, Vera Mills, a brother and sister-in-law, John and Jan Mills; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Jerry Triplett; and his maternal grandmother, Lela Carpenter Miller, all of Zeigler; a granddaughter, Katelyn Mills of Herrin; nieces and nephews, Cori Reid of Marion, Ashley Morgan of Zeigler, Chad and Crystal Mills of Zeigler; great-nieces and nephews, Cameron and Hayley Reid of Marion, Tallan and Trevor Mills of Zeigler; aunts and uncles, Sherry Clark and Don and Peggy Carpenter of Zeigler; and special friends, Roger Orlandini, Connie Connor and Priscilla Vannoy.
His father; grandfather, Harold Mills; and a son, Jonathan C. Mills also preceded him in death.
Jerry was a 1971 graduate of Zeigler-Royalton High School and the former owner/operator of the Lil-O-Cabinet Shop in Mulkeytown.
Services for Mr. Mills will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011, at Zeigler Cemetery, with Brother Jason Mehaffy officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery prior to the services.
Vantrease Funeral Homes, Inc. of Zeigler and Royalton is in charge of the arrangements.
