CREAL SPRINGS -- Leslie R. Hunt, 66, died at 12:15 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2011, at his home

As per his wishes, he will be cremated and a graveside memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 21, in Maplewood Cemetery in Marion.

Leslie was born Aug. 23, 1944, in Woodstock to Richard L. and Shirley (Robinson) Hunt.

He married Patricia Werderman and she survives of Creal Springs.

He is survived by mother, Shirley Deaton of Creal Springs; wife, Pat Hunt of Creal Springs; daughter, Cathy Merrill and husband, Alan, of Marion, daughter, Karen Shepherd and companion, Billy Rinks, of Creal Springs, daughter, Sherry Haynes of Creal Springs, daughter, Gynelle Ledbetter and husband, John Thibeault, of Creal Springs; stepdaughter, Vicki Banovz and husband, Bob, of Glendale Heights; stepson, Jeffery McCoy of Madison, Wis., stepdaughter, Melissa Dotson of Rockford; 14 grandchildren, William Shepherd, Tiffiany Merrill, Kalip Merrill, all of Marion, Jesse and Donna Haynes of Hendersonville, N.C., Katie and Rosco Ledbetter, both of Creal Springs; Brianna Dotson, Okie Dotson, Lacey Dotson, all of Crystal Lake, Trey Dotson, Danielle McCoy and Samantha McCoy, all of Rockford and Amber Banovz of Glendale Heights and great-grandchild, Noel of Crystal Lake.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Hunt; his father and grandson, Jason Merrill.

He worked as a truck driver and enjoyed his job. He drove many miles through the years. In his spare time he enjoyed shooting pool and riding four wheelers with his family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of U.S. Truck Drivers Association.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him

My dad was the greastest dad, he might not have told me he loved me everyday but i ALWAYS knew and still know how much he does love me. he was a great husband and the best grandfather. he will be greatly missed.
