Mildred Booten Obituary

MARION - Mildred N. Booten, 91, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2011, in Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Mildred was born Feb. 27, 1920, in Carrier Mills, to Uriel and Ethel (Chaney) Suver. She married H. Allen Booten on Nov. 5, 1954, in Marion. He preceded her in death July 24, 1994.

She worked for Ameren Electric for several years prior to her marriage and later worked for Bruce Troutman and Bill Brown at the Williamson County treasurer's office.

Mildred was a member of Beta Sigma sorority, P.E.O. and Westernaire Homemakers. She was a precinct committee woman for many years and member of the Republican Central Committee and Williamson county Republicans Women's Club. She was also a member of Beta Sigma sorority in Harrisburg and Marion First Christian Church.

Survivors include a son, Todd Alan Booten and wife Tabatha of Marion; grandchildren, Taylor and Colton; nephews, Randy Davis of Harrisburg and Kyle Davis of Marion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three sisters.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, in Marion First Christian Church, with the Rev. Bill Rucker officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.

Memorials may be made to Marion First Christian Church or the American Heart Association and will be accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 N. Market St. Marion, IL 62959.
