Peggy Walden Obituary

NORRIS CITY -- Peggy Walden, 79, passed away at 1:25 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at her residence.

Peggy was born Dec. 3, 1930 in Norris City, the daughter of William Clyde and Mabel Eva (Henson) Edmonds. She married Carl William Walden Jr. on July 30, 1962 and he preceded her in death Nov. 2, 2002. Peggy had worked as a caretaker for the U.S. Department of Interior, National Park Service. She was a member of Norris City General Baptist Church.

Peggy is survived by a daughter, Carla Joyce Hendrix of Modesto, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Naomi Edmonds of Nashville; two grandson, Joey and John Hendrix; three nieces, Debbie Galles of Centraila, Lora Rombough and Jamie Edmonds, both of Nashville; a nephew, Chad Edmonds of Nashville; and a sister-in-law, Emma Edmonds of Nashville.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Ronald Dale Walden; and a brother, Clyde Dean Edmonds.

Funeral services for Peggy Walden will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, in Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Norris City. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
