It is with profound sadness that the family of Conrad Opdahl announce his passing on September 6 after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Joyce, of 57 years. His children: Donna (Dave) Hassell; Kim (Phil) Johnson; Doug (Colleen) Opdahl. Grandchildren: Christie (Scott) Connell; Nathan (Stephanie) Hassell; Jenna, Rilla, Emma and Hokken Johnson; Rob (Brenda) Samletzki, Luke Opdahl, Michael and Anna-Karina Opdahl (and their mother Cynthya Bringas). Great-grandchildren: Malcolm and Violet Connell and Drew Samletzki. He's also survived by his siblings Irving (Shirley) Opdahl; Jerrold (Jean) Opdahl; Dale (Lillian) Opdahl; Linda (Ron) Lamabe; Marianne Prosofsky and brothers- in-law Franklin Steger, Ken Derr and sister-in- law, Valva Derr, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Conrad was predeceased by his son Jeffrey, his parents Joar and Pearl Opdahl, Joyce's parents, Victor and Pauline Derr, brothers Herman Opdahl and infant Jerrold Opdahl, sister Joy Steger and brothers-in-law Robert Prosofsky and Ray Morrice. Conrad was an oil man, a farmer but the most important aspect of his life was his family. He will be missed so much; he will be cherished in our hearts forever. The "Celebration of Life" service for Conrad will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 812 Preston Avenue, Saskatoon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR), #600, 177 Lombard Ave, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 0W5, clwr.org/donate or a charity of your choice. Conrad's family would like to express our most heartfelt gratitude for the exemplary care he received from Dr. Haver, the doctors and all the staff at RUH.
