Dear Greg and family,
I first met Vera while we were both students at SIAST taking the EA course. Our paths crossed occasionally over the years at various PD days. I remember her as being kind-hearted, generous, and patient. I consider it a blessing and privilege to have known her. My prayers are with you as you remember her and mourn her loss.

I will miss Mrs. McDougall. She was a great teacher. She helped me with spelling and other stuff. She always smiled at me and I felt really happy when I was with her. I will miss her and will think about her a lot.

Dear Greg and family, Debi Neufeld called us with the very sad and sobering news of Vera's death. She was such a special person and you both were always a sweet example of a beautiful marriage. Our hearts are with you and we recall such great memories of our friendship-we still remember the fun we had at the "ice capades" with Vera and Kim and you and me doing the 'pawn shop on the corner in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania' when Fred Schartner presented us with a bouquet of wilted dandelions. If you are ever out B.C. way our door is always open, Owen. I met Vera almost 8 years ago when she took the Educational Assistant Certificate Program in Warman and I was one of her instructors. Vera was a special woman whose warm and gentle nature was infectious. Since that time, it was a pleasure to see her on different occasions and talk. My sincerest sympathy is extended to you. We were saddened to read about Vera. We got to know Vera and your awesome family through an outside circle of friends, the 96th Highlanders family. We were blessed to have had the privilege to know someone with such demeanor; her warm smile, her willingness to help where needed and her gentle approach are just a few of the traits that come to mind. It was obvious that family was important as that constant glow was evident.
There are no words that can truly ease the pain of you loss, but if caring thoughts can help, they are with you all right now. May you have memories to turn to for comfort, friends to turn to for support and hope and strength to help ease your sadness at this difficult time.
