CORNELIUS REIMER
It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Cornelius on April 20, 2016 at the age of 85. He was born on May 2, 1930 to Jacob and Anna Reimer and was raised in Kronsthal near Osler. In 1955, Cornelius married Mary Reddekopp and together, with their six children, they ran a family dairy farm near Osler for many years. Corney saw many changes and developments, attributing his ability to keep up and prosper through the peaks and valleys of farming to the collaboration of neighbouring farm families and the strong support of his wife. He was a jack-of-all-trades who completed his projects with order and precision. Cornelius enjoyed playing music including the guitar, accordion, and harmonica. While farming life did not allow for much travel, he was fortunate to have the opportunity to see the Kennedy Space Centre – enjoying the experiences in Florida and more recently, a trip to Victoria to see the west coast. Above all, Cornelius's family will always remember him as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather, having left many wonderful memories. He never yearned for wealth or recognition and simply loved spending time with his family, being out in nature, and knowing that he was helping others. He maintained his strong convictions and sense of humour until the end; his boisterous great- grandchildren bringing him much laughter and joy in his last few years. Corney will be remembered and deeply missed by his loving wife, Mary, and his children, Jake (Tena) Reimer, Helene (Stan) Friesen, Marie (Harold) Penner; Susan (Ben) Loewen, Doris Reimer, Angela (Kevin) Loehendorf, his grandchildren; Robyn (Clint), Shane, Melissa (Peter), Stephen (Michelle); Steven (Georgia), Kelly and Wes; Nolan (Susan), Dawna (Adrian), Chad (Lauren); Tyler (Aleisha), Jared and Kevin; and Coralee, Kobe, great-grandchildren; Colin, Helaina, Annabelle, Heidi, Mia and Isabelle; his sister, Mary Reimer, and numerous other friends and family. He was predeceased by his parents, his daughter-in-law Jennifer Reimer, 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Viewing will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2016, 7:00 p.m. at Dalmeny Funeral Home, 139 3rd Street, Dalmeny, SK.
