Angie Perez COLUMBIA Funeral service for Angie Perez, 62, of Columbia will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3600 Devine Street, Columbia, SC 29205 with burial to follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Msgr. Richard D. Harris, V.C. will officiate. he family will greet friends from 6:00 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Angie passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Pedro Perez and Virginia Otero Perez. Angie earned two master's degrees, one from Berlin University in music education and the second from USC in voice. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a cantor for 20 years, Catholic Eucharistic Minister and taught Catechism classes. Angie worked for the United States Post Office for over 22 years, earning numerous awards. She worked at Fort Jackson for 24 years, where she was church choir leader. She restored her own house. Surviving are her sister, Maria Virginia Perez of Columbia; brothers, Pedro "Pete" Perez, Jr. of Columbia, and Nelson Perez-Otero (Donna) of Montgomery, AL; nieces, Melissa Gillis (Shane) and Heather Gales (Donnie); nephews, David Perez and Philip Perez; great-niece, Kristi Perez and great-nephews, Sam and Carlin Gillis; her two devoted and loving dogs, Fergie and Genie.
