Victor died Thursday, December 15, 2011. Born November 17, 1931, in Cipolleti, Argentina, he was a son of Southern Baptist foreign missionaries, George A. Bowdler, Sr. and Ruth Nicholson Bowdler. He dearly loved his parents and two brothers and sister and remembered his childhood days with fondness. He was educated at Stonybrook School in New York, William Jewell College in Missouri and Iowa State University. Victor served in the U.S. Army, ran his own business in Los Angeles, CA for thirty years, and worked for Pizza Hut for twenty years in West Columbia, SC. He loved Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord and faithfully served him for eighty years. He was always ready to pray for everyone at any hour. He was an animal lover, a gifted artist and spoke fluent Spanish.
Victor deeply appreciated his friend, Cornelia Pahien, of Hamburg, Germany, his friend, Dr. Sara Bell at Dorn VA Hospital and Pastor Gene Brown and members of Wildewood Worship Center, Lugoff, SC.
The family thanks the church, the Palmetto Richland Inpatient Hospice, and Dorn VA Hospital for their wonderful care of Victor for twenty years.
Surviving are his brothers, William Bowdler and George Bowdler; nieces, Patsy Stewart, and Debbie Robin; and nephews, Gordon Bowdler and David Bowdler.

Mr. Bowdler would frequently visit my place of business, not just as a customer, but also just to hang out and visit. I loved to watch him mingle with the other customers and listen to some of his stories. Before the end of the conversation, he would always steer it toward the subject of Jesus. Mr. Bowdler - you will be missed.

So very sorry for you loss. We went to church with Victor, and he was such a nice man. We enjoyed talking with him each Sunday, and will miss seeing him. May God give you His peace and comfort at this time.
