C. Robert "Moose" Kahle LEXINGTON - C. Robert "Moose" Kahle, husband of Joanne F. Kahle died December 31, 2013. He was the son of the late Charles and Irene Kahle of Hammond Indiana. Moose graduated from the University of South Carolina where he played basketball and football. He was a Navy veteran and was a member of the Indiana Sports Hall of Fame. Moose also started the famous "Moose League" tennis group which is currently in Lexington and the Forest Acres area. Moose is survived by his wife and sons, Robert W. "Bobby" (Patricia), Kevin and Keith. Grandsons, Jude (Dena) and Hampton. Granddaughter, Chollet (Justin) Helfer. Great-grandsons, Jonas Kahle, James Helfer and Silas Kahle. One Great-granddaughter, Grey Kahle. He was predeceased by his much loved grandson, Joshua Kahle and his sister,Helen Milner. No formal services will be held. This was Moose's request. A private family memorial will be held at the home. Memorials may be sent to the local S.P.C.A. or to a charity of your choice. My husband, Robert & I are saddened at the loss of Mr. Kahle. He was a coach & a teacher at Lower Richland High School when we attended many years ago. He was well thought of by all. He was still a handsome man even in old age. He will be missed by many of our fellow classmates. He stayed in touch with some over the years and attended a couple of our High School Reunions.
