Eloise Bookert Obituary

COLUMBIA - Funeral service for Mrs. Eloise Ashford Bookert will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. (viewing 10:00 a.m.) at Temple Zion Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church's cemetery. Viewing will be held today beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Leevy's Funeral Home, Taylor Street Chapel.

Mrs. Bookert was educated in the public schools of Richland County and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. She later attended the University of South Carolina School of Nursing.

Mrs. Bookert was employed as a nurse for over 30 years. She initially worked at Waverly Hospital, then Columbia Hospital and finally Richland Memorial Hospital. After retiring from Richland Memorial, she accepted a position in the health unit of Columbia College where she was selected as Outstanding Administrator of the Year.

Mrs. Bookert leaves to cherish her loving memory: her husband, Reubin Bookert; son, Rear Adm. Reubin (Marvis) Bookert; daughter, Theresa Diane Bookert (Stephen) Singleton; four grandsons; two great-granddaughters; a host of other loving relatives and friends. www.leevy.com
