Born in Saluda County, a son of the late Clarence A. and Rosetta Berry Workman, he was the husband of Lelia Mae Rodgers Workman. Mr. Workman was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from Milliken and a self-employed carpet installer and farmer.
Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Lelia Mae Rodgers Workman, two sons, Jacob (Phyllis) Workman, Jr. of Saluda and Curtis (Debra) Workman of Beech Island, two daughters, Janice (Larry) Lewis of Aiken and Bonnie (Ben) Forrest of Saluda, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.
A Graveside service will be 11 a.m., Friday, December 24, 2010 at Ridge Spring Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 6290 Linton Blvd., Suite 104, Delray Beach, FL 33484 or Boy's Farm, P.O. Box 713, Newberry, SC 29108.
