I've known Jay for 30 years and the one person I know Jay looked up to was his brother. This must be very difficult Jay. Your brother was a well loved and respected man.

I know it was hard, but I'm very honored to have been entrusted with his care during his final days. Thank you for that trust, Jay! You may know how much it meant to Paul, but you can't know how much it meant to me also, to be able to share Jello and cookies with him in the morning.
Thank you, Jay, for sharing your treasure in Paul with us!!

I will miss you my brother! You were my saving grace for a year or two there Pauly, thanks, and my side kick after the SSS fire at City Council. I am just glad to have had the pleasure of calling you my friend and brother at arms. Rest in peace and I will see you on the other side.
Jay, words can not express my thoughts enought. He will surley be missed by you. You did good by him. He loved you greatly. He is in good hands now and is no longer sick. May God be with you also.

My sympathies to you Jay and Jan and to Carla (even though I never had the pleasure). Jay I remember you as a tiny fella and never knew you personally.
Jan I remember riding to school with you and Paul(Mike as he was known in those days).
Paul was always a stand up guy back then and a great football and baseball player. Always was taking up for an underdog geek like me.
I will never forget Mike my best friend . Our families were forever united back in the Old Melton School Community when we were a bunch of country kids attending a small high school called Pendleton High.

To Jan and Jay, you have my deepest sympathy and prayers. Paul you were certainly one of the most intellegent and respectful southern gentlemen I ever met. Thank you for the memories of our discussions on many subjects. You will be missed and loved. Thank you for accepting me as I am.

Paul I met you at your mothers house when I came to visit your sister Jan. You and I had coffee many times after that. I remember fondly of the history chats that you had with my husband and I. You gave me smiles when I thought I could have naught. God bless you my old friend.

I did not know you personally Mr. Lowry, but after hearing the stories of your adventures and prowess in the Chess World from your sister Jan, I feel I know you. I pray that God holds you in the palm of your hand for your legacy is great that you have left upon the land. I know you were a blessing to your sister and her family as she spoke with great respect of yours and your younger brothers honor and heart. You will be missed.

We were so glad that you and Carla were able to share some special times together. What a kind heart and a real southern gentleman... it was a priviledge to know you and be in your company. Gerry and I loved your stories and I will miss your phone calls as much as I will miss you. Your are at peace and in Gods Good Graces Now...

My heart is crushed and my laughter has ebbed. No one could have asked for a better brother, mentor or friend. Being with you hourly the last 6 months as you bravely battled was an honor. You showed us all what courage and dignity means and your bravery dwarfs any I've ever seen in my life. I will miss our talks and your counsel. Rest in Peace in the arms of Christ for you were His faithful servant to the end.

Paul was a fine chess player, but more than anything he was a fine man. He showed love and respect at every turn. He cherished life, and loved books. Jay and Carla were the center of his life. Rest in peace Paul.
