Dr. Sam George Koutroulakis BEAUFORT - Dr. Sam George Koutroulakis beloved father, brother, and friend died on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. Sam was born in Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from The University of Alabama and the Dental School at The University of Alabama. He served in the US Navy for two years as a Dentist at Parris Island from 1957-1959. He married May Chakides of Beaufort and resided in Beaufort ever since. He is survived by his children, Harry Koutroulakis (Margaret) and Paul Koutroulakis (Paulette); daughter in law, Renee Koutroulakis; grandchildren, Alexis, Sam, Daniel, Nikki, Andrew, Jenna and Helen; sisters, Tasia (James) Argires and Lula Christ; brother in law Harry Chakides (Jane) and George Chakides (Jackie); sister in law, Electra Julius and close friends Juanita Collings and many nephews, nieces and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one son, George Koutroulakis. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 19, 2016 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow on Monday, December, 19, 2016 at 11:30 AM in Carl Anderson Memorial Chapel with burial in Beaufort National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to your local hospice, or a charity of one's choice or Alzheimer's Family Service of Greater Beaufort, P.O. Box 1514 Beaufort, SC 29901. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.

Dr Sam ( as my mother, Juanita Collings, called him) was a good man, good father, and great friend. I really liked the fact that we were both born on August 26th. He was wonderful to be around but never interrupt his Alabama football. He certainly loved to watch them play. He will truly be missed, not only by me but also by Beaufort. I know I was certainly blessed to have known him.
