Raymond J. Scoda, 62, of Clarks Summit, passed away May 8, 2022, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family. He and his wife, Ann Driesbaugh Scoda, would have celebrated 35 years of marriage in September.
Born in Taylor, he was the son of the late Edmund J. and Elizabeth M. Scoda. He attended Pittston Area High School and Penn State University.
Raymond was an avid outdoorsman and an exceptional athlete. He enjoyed fishing on his boat and hunting with family and friends. Whether it was sitting outside on his porch or backpacking deep in the mountains, he cherished it all. He was a star athlete in football, baseball and wrestling. Ray loved all sports, but he was known for being a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan.
Ray had a heart of gold. He always made time to check on others and cared so much for those around him. He held his relationships with friends and family so close to his heart.
Raymond's true love was his wife, Ann. She was the love of his life and was always by his side. Together they had a daughter, Alyssa Scoda, Washington, Pa., who was his pride and joy.
Surviving him are his two brothers, Edmund Scoda Jr., Spring Brook Twp.; and William M. Scoda, Duryea; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David R. Scoda.
