Ludmilla "Ludy" Parrish Baldan, the widow of Harry Baldan, died Oct. 25, 2022, two weeks short of her 96th birthday, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, after an illness. She was born in New York City, the daughter of the late Pauline Marsala Grizzle and Thomas Parrish, and the stepdaughter of Alfred Grizzle. She was a 1945 graduate of Straubenmuller Textile High School in Manhattan.
She married Harry in 1946, moved to Peckville soon after and had a summer home at Lake Henry. She most recently lived at the Gardens at Green Ridge in Scranton. Ludy worked for many years in Archbald at Scottie Electronics/Daystrom/Weston and Loral, as it was known at her retirement.
She enjoyed entertaining, cooking, going out to dinner, and was a member of the Mid-Valley Senior Center in Jessup and of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Dickson City.
Surviving are her nephews, Michael and Gregory Dick; nieces, Doreen Cramer, Leslie Sedlak and Janine Gallagher, all of whom she treated as her own family. Also surviving are numerous cousins; grandnieces and grandnephews; and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
The funeral will take place at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 25 Hillcrest Drive, Dickson City, on Nov. 1, at 11 a.m. Viewing is at 10:15 a.m. at St. Stephen's, prior to the service. Interment, Prospect Hill Cemetery, Peckville, Pa.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Stephen's or the donor's charity of choice.
