Brian Zimmerman Obituary

Brian Franklin Zimmerman, age 41, of Moosic, died tragically and unexpectedly Sunday evening at Pocono Raceway. He is survived by his loving wife, the former Marion Jones. The couple would have celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary on August 12.

Born in Saginaw, Michigan, on March 26, 1971, son of Patricia Hicks of St. Helen, Mich., and Roger Zimmerman of Ithaca, Mich., Brian earned his bachelor's degree in engineering from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich. A field service engineer, he worked for seven years for Rite Track of West Chester, Ohio. Of Protestant faith, he regularly attended the Moosic Presbyterian Church.

An avid sports fan who loved NASCAR racing, he also rooted for both the Boston Red Sox and the Michigan State Spartans. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. A loving husband, father of three and brother, he will be forever missed.

He is also survived by his three children: two sons, Cole Patrick and Chase Randolph; and daughter, Lana Christine, all at home; his brother, Douglas Zimmerman of DeWitt, Mich.; his sister, Kelly Meyer of Atlanta, Georgia; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and his mother-in-law.

Private services to be conducted by the Rev. Joyce Warner will be held on Saturday. Interment will follow in the Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Brian's name to a trust to benefit the Family of Brian Zimmerman, in care of Fidelity Banks of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
