Cody Hendrickson Obituary

Senior Airman Cody Alan Hendrickson, USAF, 23, of Dudley, N.C., died Feb. 22 in Greenville, N.C.

He was born May 24, 1987, in Tunkhannock, son of Jeff "Scooter" Hendrickson and Kitty Decker Hendrickson, Penrose, Utah. Senior Airman Hendrickson, of the 4th Component Maintenance Squadron with the Air Force, was a 2005 graduate of Ste. Genevieve High School. He entered the Air Force on May 30, 2006, and attended basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas, and technical school at Sheppard AFB, Texas, where he trained as an aircraft fuel-systems specialist. His assignments included Mountain Home AFB, Idaho; Kunsan AB, South Korea; Nellis AFB, Nevada; Langley AFB, Virginia; Anderson AFB, Guam; and Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina

Senior Airman Hendrickson's awards include the Air Force Achievement Medal and Airman of the Quarter.

He loved his family, his friends, the Air Force, Missouri, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by a sister, Katlin Hendrickson, Penrose; a niece, Kallie Boland, Penrose; grandmother, Kathryn Decker, Penrose; grandmother, Mavis White, Phoenix.; stepgrandfather, Jack White, Phoenix; stepgrandmother, Mary Lou Hendrickson; two aunts, Kristi Hendrickson, Nicholson; and Laurie Hendrickson Gabriel, St. Cloud, Minn.; two uncles, Jack Decker, Mississippi; and Dave Decker, New Mexico; a stepuncle, Charlie Wakkins; and a second cousin, Matthew Hendrickson.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Irvin "Bud" Hendrickson and Arthur "Art" Decker.

Visitation will be at Basler Funeral Home, Ste. Genevieve, Mo., on Saturday, from 9 to 11 a.m. A service will take place at Saline Baptist Church at noon. Burial will be at Minnith Cemetery in Minnith, Mo.
