Elizabeth Middlesworth Obituary
Born Oct. 24, 1928, in Mayfield, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Kantor O'Buck, Mrs. Middlesworth was a retired registered nurse, having been a surgical nurse at the former PolyClinic Hospital; former director of nurses at the former Osteopathic Hospital; former administrator of George Leader Nursing Home; and had worked for the Pennsylvania Nurses' Association.
She was a member of Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church, Colonial Park.
Surviving are a sister, Rosella Gardecki, Conyngham; a brother, John O'Buck, Plains, Mont.; two nephews, Joseph Gardecki, Acton, Mass.; and John Gardecki, Conyngham; a niece, Rosella Gardecki, Columbus, Ohio; a great-niece, Emma Gardecki, Acton; and a cousin, Nicholas O'Buck, Sinking Spring.
A viewing will be Friday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church, 5501 Old Locust Lane, Harrisburg. A brief memorial service will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at the church, by the Rev. Stephen Vernak, and funeral services will be at 1 p.m. at St. Tikhon's Monastery Church, 175 St. Tikhon's Road, Waymart. Interment will be in St. Tikhon's Monastery Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zimmerman-Auer Funeral Home Inc., Harrisburg.

Betty Middleworth worked with me at the Department of Welfare. I remember how strong and upright a person she was. She and Tom were so much in love. They were devoted to each other. Betty was and is a good person. My condolences to the family.

I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Middlesworth's passing. She was a wonderful woman. She reminded me so much of her mom; strong and independent but extremely compassionate and loyal to family and friends. She and her husband were good friends of my late parents and I will always remember the laughter and good times when they were in town visiting. Vechnaya Pamyat (Memory Eternal)
