George Schadt Obituary
Son of the late George Washington and Hilda Harvey Schadt, he was employed at Ford Motor Co. as a chief inspector in Buffalo, N.Y. He was a member of St. Mathew's Lutheran Church and a former member of its council. George graduated from Johnson Technical School in Scranton. He served our country as a Marine in the Pacific theater during World War II. George was a member of Factoryville Lodge 341, F&AM. He was a member of the Lake Sheridan Cottages Association and served as treasurer for Nicholson Volunteer Fire Company, Nicholson American Legion, Factoryville Men's Civic Club, Factoryville Volunteer Fire Company and Wyoming County Fire Police Association. He was a 35-year member of Blasdell Volunteer Fire Company, Blasdell, N.Y. He was a collector of nutcrackers and Jim Beam bottles, and he loved spending time with grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sons, George Schadt and wife, Sandra, Hamburg, N.Y.; Kenneth Schadt and wife, Kathy, Webster, N.Y.; and David Schadt and wife, Susan, Attica, N.Y.; three stepsons, James Judd and wife, Debra, Lackawanna, N.Y.; Larry Judd and wife, Patricia, Buffalo, N.Y.; and Paul Judd and wife, Tara, Hop Bottom; a sister, Marilyn Owens and husband, Bruce, Scranton; two brothers, Charles Schadt and wife, Nancy, Las Vegas; and Robert Schadt, Lake Sheridan; 13 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Scholl, in 1982; and sister, Audrey Slater.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Mathew's Lutheran Church, Scranton, with the Rev. Lester Stephenson officiating. Interment will be at the Shady Lane Cemetery, Chinchilla.
Friends may call at the Anthony P. Litwin Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds St., Factoryville, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Factoryville Fire Company Ambulance Fund or the St. Mathew's Lutheran Church, Scranton.

As we go through life on occasion you may encounter what some may refer to as a motivational speaker. Still as you continue your journey through this life you’ll meet others with great dreams and aspirations that they may share with you that at the time seem so grand.
But I have truly been touched by an individual that that did not boost of grandeur, or try to speak of others of what they could accomplish if done in a manor similar of his own thinking. This was a man a simple man that led only by example, a man that giving was a way of life, continually offering his life for others in what he did, not just in what he said. Rarely would he speak a biblical verse, he demonstrated them through his choices in life.
For this Uncle George you will be missed and remembered.
