Mildred L. Plociniak

Mildred L. Plociniak, 89, of Moscow, died Thursday morning after an illness at Mountain View Care Center, where she was a resident since 2004. She was the wife of Raymond F. Plociniak, who died in 1982.

Born Feb. 22, 1922, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Emma (Bentler) Clemens. She was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and, prior to retirement, was owner and operator of Plociniak Oil Co. in Moscow for many years. She was a member of Moscow United Methodist Church, where she served on the audit committee. She was also a member of Golden Girls of the church. The family would like to thank the management and staff of Mountain View Care Center for its excellent and compassionate care given these past seven years.

Surviving are two sons, Raymond F. Plociniak Jr. and wife, Barbara, Moscow; and Alan T. Plociniak and wife, Ann, Madison Twp.; three sisters, Alice Spaar, Branford, Conn.; Gladys Zawicki, Mount Cobb; and Leona DeMattio, Olyphant; three grandchildren, Raymond F. Plociniak III, Moscow; Alan T. Plociniak Jr., Moscow; and Fallon M. Plociniak, Scranton. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Clemens Sr. and John Clemens.

The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Moscow United Methodist Church, 126 Church St., Moscow, with the Rev. Jon Buxton, pastor, officiating. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
