Carl L. Wildermann Obituary

Carl L. Wildermann, Scranton, died Thursday morning in the Moses Taylor Hospital after being stricken ill at home. His wife of 44 years, the former Roberta Louise Champury, died Aug. 20, 2009.

Born in New York City, son of the late Paul J. and Henrietta Maas Wildermann, he was educated in Scarsdale schools and graduated Iona High School of New Rochelle, N.Y. Prior to his retirement he was the owner and manager of "Carl Wildermann Turf Management." He was a member of Saint Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Newburgh, N.Y., and the Saint Martin DePorres Society of New York. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and friend who enjoyed spending quality time with his family. He loved pets of all kinds and socializing with his friends at Life Geisinger, Scranton.

Carl's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and participants of Life Geisinger for the dedication and hospitality given to their dad. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are a daughter, Marion Falabella and husband Robert, with whom he resided, Scranton; a son, Paul Wildermann and wife Jennifer, Scranton; a grandson, Paul Joseph Wildermann, Scranton; a cousin Marie Burke, Long Island, N.Y.; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Arden and Charles.

The funeral will be conducted Monday from Carl J. Savino Funeral Home, 157 S. Main Ave., West Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Church, 1510 Penn Ave., Scranton, Pa. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Rd., S. Abington Twp., PA 18411.
