Vincent Mecca Obituary
Born in Scranton, he was the son of Vincent A. Sr. and Carm Verrastro Mecca of Dunmore. He was a member of St. Thomas More Parish in Lake Ariel and SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore. He had earned a degree in architectural drafting from Johnson College and was owner of Vince Mecca's World of Custom Cabinetry Inc. in Elmhurst, where he was a national award winner by the National Kitchen and Bath Association. Vince was also a member of the Wayne and Lackawanna County Home Builders Association, the National Rifle Association and a member of the Scranton Chapter of UNICO.
He was an avid outdoorsman and hunting enthusiast. However, it was his family and love of God that meant everything to him and which was truly most important. He had a love of cabinet making, which he learned growing up and working side-by-side with his father, Vince, who was his mentor and best friend. With his daughter Adriana's leadership, the family business will continue to thrive into the future. He was expecting the birth of his second grandchild that is due to arrive in March.
Also surviving are three daughters, Adriana Mecca, Lake Ariel; Melissa Gregory and husband, Joseph, Dunmore; and Desiree Mecca, Lake Ariel; two sons, Vincent A. III and John Mecca, both of Lake Ariel; two sisters, Carolyn Sanders and husband, Michael; and Janet Mecca, all of Dunmore; a granddaughter, Brooke Richardson, Lake Ariel; father and mother-in-law, John and Connie Antidormi; niece; two nephews; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Angelo and Carmella Mecca; maternal grandparents, William and Rose Verrastro; and two uncles, Salvatore and Anthony Mecca.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. Interment will follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow. Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen, 500 Penn Ave., Scranton, PA 18509.

My friend, my brother, although I am in shock from this awful news, my thoughts stray to the great times we shared at Johnson college, hunting, playing football, and our wine filled ice fishing days.
