Gladys Ann Trauger

Gladys Ann Trauger, 92, of Lake Winola, died Thursday at VNA Hospice, Scranton. Her husband of 64 years, Harold Trauger, died in 2008.

Born March 4, 1923, in Falls, daughter of the late Jack and Ethel Lewis Clark, she was a graduate of the Falls-Overfield School and furthered her education at the Lackawanna Junior College. Gladys, along with her husband, owned and operated Trauger's Greenhouse. She was a lifetime member of the Lake Winola United Methodist Church and one of the founding members of the Scranton Farmers Market, and started a pinnacle club with friends, which is still active today.

She enjoyed quilting and gardening, and was an avid reader. Gladys was an excellent cook and she was best known for her pies. She was a loving, caring mother and grandmother, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are her children, Harold Jr. and wife, Mary Lou Trauger; Larry and wife, Debra Trauger; and Russell and wife, Dorothy Trauger, all of Lake Winola; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Elva Nelson and Hazel Williams; and a brother, Wenfield Clark.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the Allied Services third floor staff for the compassionate care of Gladys.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Lake Winola United Methodist Church, 326 Maple Drive, with Pastor Michael Baumgardner officiating.
