It saddened me to hear of Charlie's passing, but has brought back some treasured memories of long ago. Charlie was a junior the year I graduated ('62). We played together on the football team and I watched as he played terrific basketball for PHHS. My sympathy to Charlie's family for your Loss.

When I was a newly divorced mom of 2, Charlie drove his trailer to Lakeport State Park so my girls and I could use it to enjoy the camping experience that he so loved. That was the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me. I believe he knows how much it meant to us.

Dear Linda Ingram,
I was so pleased to be informed by my American Host-brother Mark Davidson about this guest book, so I could be included among many of Charlie´s friends.
Charlies was one of my first friends in Port Huron High School (I was an enchange student from Sweden 1962-63). He was in a few of my classes and he immediately started to tease me, which opened me up, I was shy and insecure about almost everything in the beginning. His comments about me or my appearance was so witty, funny and teasing with warm touch of his voice! He copied my accent in a very funny way so later on when my English improved I copied myself when I was talking to him! He made me laugh which is so important when someone feels afraid. I have met him a few times at high school reunions and it gave me such pleasure to see that friendly smile again. With this message I hope you , his family, will also smile when you think about this old grayhaired lady sitting in Stockholm, Sweden, thinking about your father/husband being thankful to have met such a friendly, witty and helpful human being a long. long time ago.
My thoughts are with you.

Charlie was one of a kind. He was my friend and my advisor. I do not think one person could have met him without being blessedly influenced by him. He has a loving family from jcp and we extend our thoughts and prayers to Linda, Michelle and Ashley. I cherish my friendship with Charlie. You are so lucky to have had him in your life! Remember that as you go through this difficult time.

I have been quite preoccupied thinking of Charlie since receiving the news. Charlie was my boss for a few years. I "had" to leave the job as he had for some months pressed me to go to school. (I was not sure at the time) I did so and think of him whenever I see a JC Penney Catalog... He really influenced me. He found ways to make the most boring jobs fun. I will never forget Charlie. My prayers are with you all.

We his MOM , Bill, Bob and the neighborhood gang called him Ray,1949-1950 We learned to play basketball on his drive way and other sports on the side yard,10th st and wall. He was always a good sport and a jorker.I will always remember Chuck. May the peace of the Lord be always with you and him. Dear Linda, Michelle, and Ashley,

My deepest sympathy for your loss. I have wonderful memories of Charlie. One of my fondest memories is when he was officiating our swim meet. It was the first time he rang the bell that the swim team had given him on the last leg of the 500. The pool was emotional and the tears were flowing by him, by me and the people in the stands. He will be missed, but his spirit lives on in the ones whose hearts he touched.

Ingram Family, Charlie was one of my heroes growing up in Port Huron. He was 5 years older, but he always took the time to talk to us kids and made us feel very special. Later in life I had some opportunities to share some quality time with him. I will always treasure those times. He was a special guy. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Mrs. Ingram, I will never forget the night some of us including Charlie, of course, decided we would block the drive through the park at the lake with picnic tables--we weren't the first to think of it but it still sounded like something we should do. Well the police were waiting for the next group to try it and that was us--so off we ran to avoid capture. Charlie and I ran together and we came to an arch by a house that we were running by and I ran on through but because Charlie was so tall he ran into a hanging light at the top of the arch. When he hit it he cut his head and it made a really loud sound as it bounced off the arch. The next thing I heard was Charlie yelling that the cops were shooting at us and that he was hit in the head. I started laughing so much that I could not run and the cops heard us and took us away. What a fun memory!! I was also in the "famed" Websters--the fraternity with the "coolest" guys in school which had to of course include Charlie. My niece worked for Charlie and had nothing but kind words to say about him and she kept me informed about him and vice versa. I will miss the guy but will always cherish the wonderful memories we had together. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
