Esther Christensen Obituary

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Esther Christensen, 92, of the Homeplace of Burlington and formerly of Oak Creek Retirement Community, passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011 at 11 p.m. at the Hospice Home.
A native of Tuscola County, Michigan, she was the wife of the late Carmen T. Davis and the late Paul Christensen and the daughter of Milton J. Bender and Ethel Mae Rayl Bender, both deceased. She was formerly employed as an executive assistant housekeeper in Saginaw, Mich.
Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Swank, of Chapel Hill; three sons, Richard Davis and wife Katherine of Stuart, Fla., Robert Davis and wife Amy of Lighthouse Point, Fla. and Donald Davis and wife Sandy of Okemos, Mich.; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one grandson and two brothers.
A memorial service will be conducted in Michigan at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 511 West Davis Street, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or to a charity of one's choice.
