Mrs. Margie Marshall Montgomery

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Margie Marshall Montgomery, 98, of Burlington Manor and formerly of Trail Three, Burlington died at the Hospice and Palliative Care Home of Alamance County on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 4:10 a.m.
A native of Chatham County, she was the wife of the late Wade Hampton Montgomery Sr. and the daughter of Jottie J. Marshall and Maggie McPherson Marshall, both deceased. She was a lifelong Methodist being raised in Rock Creek United Methodist Church and a member of Davis Street United Methodist Church since 1938. She was honored with Lifetime Membership in the United Methodist Women. She was active on different committees within the church.
Survivors include two sons, Wade H. Montgomery Jr. and wife Katrine of Burlington and Marshall W. Montgomery and wife Daphne of Hickory; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Marshall Lindley and her brother, Franklin Marshall.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Ellen McCubbin with the family receiving friends after the service. Private burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the special staff at Burlington Manor for their help in taking care of Mrs. Montgomery for seven years.
