Janet McPherson Obituary
Born in Alamance County, she attended The Church at Burlingtonand was a graduate of Southern Alamance High School and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a double major in Psychology and Business. She was a Real Estate Broker, a Reiki Master Practitioner and an accountant.
Survivors include daughter, Amber Renee McPherson, of the home; parents, I.B. And Delores Linville Mills Jr., of Graham; sister, Lori Mills Lang and husband, Roger, of Burlington; brother, Brad Mills and wife, Karen Smith Mills, of Graham; paternal grandmother, Clara Holt Mills, of Graham; nieces and nephews, Wil Woodard, Caitlin Woodard, Cody Mills, Lacy Mills, Jody Lang and wife, Jaimie, and Travis Lang.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday December 15, 2009, at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel, 1030 South Main Street, Graham, with the Pastor Chris Allman officiating.
Entombment will be in the Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at other times at the home of her parents I.B. and Delores Mills, 2025 Lacy Holt Road, Graham.
Memorials may be made to the Family Abuse Services of Alamance County, P.O. Box 2192, Burlington, N.C. 27216.

I miss Jan every day. The need to pick up the phone and call her hits me often. She was my best friend, and she will always remain in my heart. She was beautiful inside and out. Losing Jan left a huge empty space in all our lives filled now by the memories of her stunning smile and indelible spirit.

Just found out about this super great loss, even though I did not know Jan it always felt like I knew her. Many years ago I bought 3 of her paintings on wood - Picket fences each with a boy and a girl and they are my prized possession. I also own the girl with a rope painted on wood which i had bought in BLOOMINGDALES and a young boy holding a rooster painted on wood. Her unbelievable work is my prized possession. In my will I left 2 of her painting to my oldest son who is an orthopedic surgeon and values art and the rest goes to my other son who builds guitars. They both know that of all things that i own these always had meaning in my life. It is with a heavy heart that I read about Jane who left the world too soon. My deepest condoleances to the whole family and specially to little Amber.

I knew Jan since elementary school and graduated with her. We got to visit at our last class reunion and see her beautiful girl, and I'm grateful for the opportunity I had to see her. What a beautiful woman, and we pray that God can reveal his encouragement and strength through such a difficult time. You never know how God can use such events, but that's all we can hold onto when no other answers are there.

My husband I were "couple friends" years ago. So sad and confusing! Every single time we saw Jan, she was smiling and making over her daughter so. I think of this tragic loss daily. I can't even begin to understand the loss that this family is going through. I know Amber will be taken care of, and somehow, she will grow up healthy, but I'm sure she will always feel a void without her mother, as all of us will who knew Jan. Girl.......you were a beautiful person. My prayers continue for all involved!

Jan was one of the kindest people I've ever known. With just a smile she could light up a room. My heart is broken for her precious daughter and the entire family. Jan and I were pregenant at the same time and I remember how ecstatic she was and how much she adored Amber.

I have known both Brad and Dean for years. I graduated with both of them. I knew Lori and Jan both but not as good as the guys. My heart just aches so much for them both.
